Unlike the island catamarans further along the coast, the Lokrum boat is not a state line and does not appear in the timetables of AOLPP, the national coastal shipping agency. It is run by the Public Institution Lokrum Reserve, which manages the island as a special forest reserve and sells one ticket covering both the reserve and the boat from the Old Town harbour and back. Arrive under your own steam and you still owe the same €30 on the island.
The autumn schedule started on 28 September. The first boat leaves the city harbour at 09:00, the next at 10:00, and from then on one goes every half hour until the last departure at 17:00. Coming back, boats leave Lokrum at 10:15, 10:45 and every half hour after that until 17:15, and the final boat off the island goes at 18:00. The times are the same seven days a week.
The reserve has not said how long this schedule lasts. Last year the final sailing was on Sunday 14 December 2025 and the island then stayed closed until the Feast of St Blaise in early February; in February and March 2026 it opened at weekends only. We will check again by 31 October 2026.

One €30 ticket for the island and the boat
There is no separate boat fare. The €30 adult ticket bought at Luža is an entrance ticket to the reserve that also includes the official boat out and back. If you come over by private boat or water taxi you still pay the same €30, at the ranger's lodge on arrival; arranging your own transport does not bring the price down.
Children up to and including seven travel and enter free, according to the price list. Ages 7 to 18 pay €5 and students €10 with proof of enrolment for the current academic year; the price list does not spell out whether those two tickets include the boat, so ask at Luža when you buy.

The Luža kiosk on the harbour and Portoč on the island
Both ticket points close before the boats stop. Luža in the city harbour sells until 16:00 and the ranger's lodge on Lokrum from 09:00 to 16:00, while boats leave the city until 17:00 and the island until 18:00. If you plan to go over late in the afternoon, buy your ticket earlier in the day or from the reserve's online shop.
Dubrovnik, Old Town harbour
The Lokrum boat leaves from the small Old Town harbour under the city walls, not from Gruž, where the ferries and island catamarans go. Tickets are sold at the Luža point in the same harbour, every day from 08:00 to 16:00 (+385 99 476 5224), and in the reserve's online shop. The reserve does not describe the exact boarding spot; the map uses the passenger landing on the Veliki mul pier as recorded in OpenStreetMap.
Lokrum, Portoč
On the island the boat lands in Portoč cove, which the reserve's price list also names as a sales point. The ranger's lodge (Lugareva kuća) sells tickets from 09:00 to 16:00 (+385 99 161 1144). Boats back to the city leave at 10:15 and 10:45 and then every half hour until 17:15, with the last one at 18:00.
From the city walls across to Portoč
Lokrum lies just off the Old Town, south-east of the city harbour, so the boat heads straight out of the harbour mouth to the island and lands in Portoč cove. The reserve publishes neither the crossing time nor the distance.
Making the most of a day on Lokrum
- Old Town harbour, not Gruž
Ask for the Old Town harbour (stara gradska luka). Gruž, Dubrovnik's main passenger port, is on the other side of the city and has no boat to Lokrum.
- Buy before 16:00
The Luža kiosk closes at 16:00 even though boats leave until 17:00. For a late crossing, buy in advance.
- Watch the last boat
The last boat from Lokrum is at 18:00. The schedule has nothing later.
- Weather cancellations
The boat does not run in bad weather. The reserve posts cancellations on its official Facebook and Instagram pages.
- Under-sevens go free
Children up to the age of seven pay nothing for the boat or for entry to the reserve.
A reserve since 1948, inside Dubrovnik's World Heritage area
Lokrum has been protected as a special forest reserve since 1948, which makes it the third-oldest protected natural area in Croatia; woodland covers about 90 % of its 72 hectares. The island and the sea around it belong to Dubrovnik's historic area on the UNESCO World Heritage List, in the zone given full protection.
The Old Town harbour is only for the short hop to Lokrum. Scheduled boats to the outer islands, such as TP Line's catamaran to Mljet and the fast boat to Korčula and Lastovo, leave from Gruž port on the other side of the city, with their own tickets.
Lokrum by boat: questions before you go
Is the boat included in the €30 Lokrum ticket?
Yes. The adult ticket sold at Luža covers entry to the reserve and the official boat there and back. There is no separate boat ticket.
Last boat back to Dubrovnik: when?
18:00. Before that, boats leave the island every half hour from 10:15 to 17:15.
Which Dubrovnik quay does the Lokrum boat use?
It leaves the Old Town harbour beneath the walls, next to the Luža ticket point. It does not leave from Gruž.
Do I still pay if I arrive by water taxi or my own boat?
Yes. Coming over on your own boat or by water taxi does not exempt you: the €30 ticket is then bought at the ranger's lodge when you land.
Is Lokrum open in winter?
No end date has been published for the current schedule. Last year the boat stopped on 14 December 2025, and in February and March 2026 the island opened only at weekends.
Can children travel free?
Up to and including age seven, yes. Ages 7 to 18 pay €5.
