Look up your day before you look up a time. On line 311 Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays have four return trips, Tuesdays start at 05:00 from Ilovik, Thursdays and Saturdays have three, and Sundays four, with the last boat of the week leaving Mrtvaška for Ilovik at 20:15. The crossing takes ten minutes each way.
This is not a Jadrolinija route. It is run by Porat Ilovik, a local company, under a contract with Croatia's coastal shipping agency AOLPP, which publishes both the timetable and the fares. An adult single is €2.20 in the off-season, in euros like every Croatian state line, and there is no room for cars.
The link began as a stopgap. According to Croatia's maritime ministry, it was set up as a temporary service on 28 November 2011, while Ilovik's harbour was being extended; islanders liked it so much that it became permanent, and Porat Ilovik has operated it since March 2013.

€2.20 a crossing, and the same for a bike
A single between Mrtvaška and Ilovik costs an adult €2.20 through to the end of 2026, the same in both directions, with port dues and VAT included. The summer fare, in force until 27 September, was €2.90. For children from 3 to 12 the fare is €1.50.
AOLPP's price list is the only published source for these fares, and the figures are unchanged from 2025. A bike is charged like a passenger, pets go free, and hand luggage up to 20 kg is not charged.

The Mrtvaška landing and Ilovik village
Mrtvaška landing, Lošinj
Mrtvaška is a small landing on the southern part of Lošinj, in the Veli Lošinj area, facing Ilovik across a narrow channel. It is not the harbour in Mali Lošinj town, where the fast boats to Ilovik leave from, and no other state line calls here. The boat leaves Mrtvaška fifteen to twenty minutes after it sets out from Ilovik. Official sources do not describe bus links to the landing, so plan your own way there.
Ilovik village harbour
On Ilovik the boat ties up in the village itself. The first boat off the island in winter is at 07:00 on most days, 05:00 on Tuesdays and 08:00 at weekends. The service was set up in 2011 precisely because the island's own harbour was being extended, and it has run ever since.
A short hop from southern Lošinj to Ilovik
The boat crosses the narrow channel between the southern part of Lošinj and Ilovik, from the Mrtvaška landing to Ilovik village, in ten minutes according to AOLPP. On paper line 311 continues to Mali Lošinj town, but that leg is a freight run on Mondays and Thursdays between 15 June and 15 September and does not carry passengers.

The 10:15 from Mrtvaška runs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only. On Saturdays the first boat is at 08:15, not 07:15.
- Park the car on Lošinj
There is no space for vehicles on this little passenger boat. Leave your hire car on the Lošinj side.
- Luggage allowance
Hand luggage travels free as long as it stays under 20 kg. Above that, the price list charges €0.40 for every extra 10 kg.
- Bikes are welcome
A bicycle pays one passenger fare, €2.20 in the off-season.
- Starting from Mali Lošinj town?
The state fast lines 9141 and 9308 also call at Ilovik, leaving from Mali Lošinj rather than Mrtvaška, with their own timetables and fares.
When that contract was signed, the ministry described the vessel as the TIM-G, built in 1993, carrying up to 50 passengers at a contracted eight knots. The island's own website still names the TIM-G on the line, but the operator publishes no fleet list for 2026, so we cannot confirm this year's boat.
Mrtvaška is Ilovik's shortest link with Lošinj, not its only one. State fast lines from Mali Lošinj town also call at Ilovik on their way to Susak, Unije, Silba, Zadar, Pula or Rijeka, depending on the line. They leave from Mali Lošinj, not Mrtvaška, and keep to timetables and fares of their own. Lošinj has one more small local boat out to its neighbouring islands: the loop from Mali Lošinj to Susak, Unije and Vele Srakane.

Is there a way to bring a car to Ilovik?
Not on this line. Line 311 is a small passenger boat; it takes people, bicycles, luggage and small goods, but no vehicles.
Does the boat run over Christmas?
Yes. On 25 and 26 December it follows the Sunday timetable: from Ilovik at 08:00, 11:45, 15:45 and 20:00, and from Mrtvaška at 08:15, 12:05, 16:00 and 20:15.
Does line 311 go to Mali Lošinj town?
Not for passengers. The Mali Lošinj leg is a summer freight run only, on Mondays and Thursdays between 15 June and 15 September.
Who runs the line?
Porat Ilovik d.o.o., under a contract with AOLPP, the Croatian agency that organises state coastal lines. It is not part of Jadrolinija.
