Krapanj lies so close to the coast at Brodarica that the line 501 boat needs just five minutes to cross, according to the 2026 timetable. AOLPP pays for it as a state service, while the boat itself belongs to Gradski parking, Šibenik's municipal company, which also operates the city's buses. The company took the line over by decision of Šibenik City Council on 1 August 2012.
Every day starts with a departure from the island. Monday to Saturday the first boat leaves Krapanj at 06:10 and the sailings carry on roughly every hour until 21:30, with the return from Brodarica always ten minutes later, from 06:20 to 21:40. On Sundays and holidays there are five return trips, the first off the island at 08:20 and the last at 20:00.
Two gaps in the weekday timetable are worth knowing about. Nothing leaves Krapanj between 09:10 and 11:10, or between 17:30 and 19:30. During the summer timetable a 10:00 boat closed the morning gap and late sailings ran until the last one left the island at midnight.

Brodarica on the mainland, the village harbour on Krapanj
Brodarica harbour
On the mainland the boat uses Brodarica harbour, on the Obala Španja Roka waterfront. Departures from Brodarica are always ten minutes after the boat leaves Krapanj: it comes across, lets passengers off and on, and goes straight back. The first weekday boat from the mainland is at 06:20.
Krapanj harbour
On Krapanj the boat docks in the harbour of the island's village. The operator describes each trip as starting from Krapanj and returning there, so the first sailing of the day leaves the island: 06:10 on weekdays and 08:20 on Sundays. The last weekday trip off the island is at 21:30.
Five minutes from quay to quay
Brodarica on the mainland and Krapanj face each other across a narrow strait, and the boat goes straight over. The timetable gives five minutes each way; no distance is published.
Visiting Krapanj on the public boat
- Foot passengers only
Line 501 is a passenger boat line; the tariff has no vehicle fares, so leave the car in Brodarica.
- Bikes at passenger price
A bicycle is charged as a passenger, €0.70 off-season.
- Mind the gaps
On weekdays there is no boat around 10:00 or between 18:00 and 19:00, so the wait can be almost two hours.
- Last boat over
The last weekday boat to the island leaves Brodarica at 21:40; on Sundays it is 20:10.
- Pets
Animals ride without a ticket; inside the cabin only if the crew says yes.
The operator describes the line as vital for the people of Krapanj, and the timetable reads that way: boats from early morning until late evening, and an islander fare of €0.40 all year. For a visitor the rule is simple. If you miss a boat, the next one is usually an hour away, except during the two gaps.
Krapanj is the only island served from Brodarica; the other state lines in the Šibenik area leave from the city harbour. From there the line 505 passenger boat calls at Zlarin and Prvić on its way to Vodice, and the line 532 car ferry heads out to Kaprije and Žirje.
